Question 4 - Who would be the audience for your media product?
My media product I have produced is aimed at girls in the age range of 11-16. I have created my media product so that it fits this age range because most pop genre magazines are usually aimed at these types of people as these are the people that are most interested in reading upon their favourite singers/bands. They would want to read and buy my magazine because the way in which I have set out my magazine and the colours I have used appeal to a younger audience; I have not made my magazine look sophisticated or formal because this is not what 12-16 year olds are going to want to look at if they’re reading about celebrity gossip etc.
Going back to my survey I carried out on Survey Monkey I found out that 75% of people that answered my first question ‘Are you male or female?’ were female.
I also found out that in total 60% of the people that answered my second question ‘What is your age?’ were ranging from 8-16.

Question 5 - How did you attract/address your audience?
The way in which I attracted my audience was by using the correct
colours and not being too formal in the way that I created my magazine. I
believe that my magazine holds the reader’s attention because there is a lot
going on on the front cover and it looks quite busy; meaning that they have a
lot to look at and choose from. As well as this front cover, on the contents
page I added a lot of stories that will appeal to the audience as it is artists
they like. I know they like these artists from producing my survey on Survey
Monkey.
On the front cover I added photos and headlines of One Direction
stories, 35% of people who answered my survey said that One Direction was there
favourite artist. As well as this, Little Mix was also one of the top bands to
be liked with 25% of people saying that it was their favourite artist/band and
because my front cover includes a girl band of four females, this is similar in
the way that Little Mix are.
I interview two females which I knew were into pop music so I could find out feedback from my magazine and see what the general public thought of my magazine. I have added the links for YouTube and GoAnimate below.

Making My Double Page Spread
I decided to use Microsoft Publisher to create my double page spread as it's a lot easier to navigate the text around instead of using Adobe Photoshop.
Secondly I copied and pasted my double page spread interview which I had previously wrote up on Microsoft Word as a template and so I knew I could edit it when I needed to, I also posted a version of it up on my blog. I made the questions and answers different colours to clearly identify to the audience which part was the question and which part was the answer. I also added a drop cap as I started off the interview to create effect.
To add the finishing touches to my double page spread, in the bottom right hand corner I added a small heading saying 'EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW' which states to the audience what the page is about. I also decided to add a pull quote from the interview and placed it within the middle of the interview to attract the readers audience and make them more intrigued to read it. The choice of the dark pink for the pull quote background was again sticking with my colour scheme all the way through which creates continuity.
Step 1
Firstly I decided to choose a pink gradient background as the magazine I produced is aimed at young girls and I know this colour appeals to them and also stands out. It works well and matches the colours on my front cover and contents page, as I have followed the colour scheme all the way through to create continuity. I then chose an image which I had previously cropped on Adobe Photoshop and placed it where I thought would be the best place and which would stand out to the audience the most. I chose the right hand side of the page as then I could have my text next to it.
Step 2Secondly I copied and pasted my double page spread interview which I had previously wrote up on Microsoft Word as a template and so I knew I could edit it when I needed to, I also posted a version of it up on my blog. I made the questions and answers different colours to clearly identify to the audience which part was the question and which part was the answer. I also added a drop cap as I started off the interview to create effect.
Step 3
I then went on to adding adding a title for my double page spread and decided to use the quote from my front cover and display it in large, bold text so that the audience knew what this page was about and they'd already be familiar with it as they saw the quote on the front cover.
Step 4
Again just to create effect to my double page spread, I added a subtitle placed below the title, which states what the interview is about.
Step 5To add the finishing touches to my double page spread, in the bottom right hand corner I added a small heading saying 'EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW' which states to the audience what the page is about. I also decided to add a pull quote from the interview and placed it within the middle of the interview to attract the readers audience and make them more intrigued to read it. The choice of the dark pink for the pull quote background was again sticking with my colour scheme all the way through which creates continuity.
